Year 4 Trip to Bhaktivedanta Manor
Year 4 pupils enjoyed a highly educational, if somewhat soggy, trip to visit a practising Hindu worshipping temple. As part of the visit, pupils learnt about the self-sufficiency of the site (relying on produce from the on-site farm), had the opportunity to feed the cattle and ride on an oxen pulled cart, learnt about some of the core values and beliefs of the Hindu religion, visited a special greenhouse, where the 'wood' was grown to produce prayer beads, were welcomed to observe an 'in progress' ceremony of worship and had the opportunity to dress in traditional clothing. After a delicious paneer and vegetable curry (followed by "The best chips ever!") pupils enjoyed having their faces painted and it was such a pleasure to receive such positive feedback from members of the community on the behaviour and engagement of all pupils during the visit.
