    Year 3 Roman Visit

    Year 3 had a fantastic visit from “Vulpas the Barbarian” from Portals to the Past. The children learnt all about the Roman Invasion of Britain, handled Roman artifacts, took part in Gladiator battles and played Roman games.

    It was back to school for Year 6 parents this week at Katherine Semar school when they came in for Reading workshops. The parents worked with their children, completing old SATs papers together in order for the parents to see how well their children are achieving.

    Year 1 Visit from Saffron Walden Museum

    Year 1 had a visit from the Saffron Walden Museum. The children had a chance to play with toys; ranging from Victorian times all the way to modern day. The children then got to choose their favourite to come and discuss on the carpet. A wonderful time was had by all!

    Today, all the children took part in a collective act of remembrance in both the infant and the junior schools, led by our year 6 classes.  The children listened intently to the history behind the Remembrance Poppy and why the Royal British Legion was formed.
