Governors

Welcome from the Chair of Governors

As Chair of Governors, I am proud to lead a dedicated team who work closely with our Executive Headteacher and senior leadership team to set the strategic direction of the school - both academically and financially. Together, we ensure that every decision we make supports the long‑term success of the school and, most importantly, the wellbeing and achievement of our children.

Our role is often described as being a “critical friend” - offering challenge where needed, but always providing support. This balance helps us to secure the very best education for every child in our care.

Each governor is expected to focus on raising standards, to get to know the school and its community, and to play an active part in school life. At the same time, we respect and value the professional expertise of our headteacher and staff, whose commitment underpins everything we achieve.

We are delighted that recent highlights include another outstanding OFSTED inspection for both our Infant and Junior schools. This success is a testament to our exceptional staff, who work tirelessly to create a safe, happy, and nurturing environment where children can thrive and reach their full potential.

Our governing board is made up of elected and appointed volunteers - parents, staff, and members of the wider community; each bringing unique skills, knowledge, and experience. We are fortunate to have expertise spanning science, law, IT, welfare, and more, which enriches our collective decision‑making.

Although governors are volunteers with busy lives, we dedicate time to meetings, school events, and monitoring visits. These visits are particularly rewarding, as they give us the chance to talk with pupils and see first‑hand the vibrant learning environment they enjoy.

I feel honoured to serve as Chair of such a hardworking and committed team of governors, who care deeply about the education and wellbeing of our children. I am equally proud of our dedicated staff, whose passion and professionalism make our school such a special place.
