Summer Reading Challenge

Katherine Semar School achieved the highest percentage of pupils taking part in the summer reading programme across all schools in the Saffron Walden area, demonstrating an outstanding commitment to reading beyond the classroom.

The Summer Reading Challenge encourages children to continue reading during the school holidays, helping them maintain and develop their literacy skills while discovering new books and authors. Katherine Semar pupils embraced the challenge with enthusiasm, resulting in the school once again topping the participation table.

The children were delighted to receive the trophy and retain the title for a second consecutive year. Their achievement reflects not only their love of reading but also the support of families and the wider school community in promoting a lifelong enjoyment of books.
