It seemed to be a slower start today. The children are having a fantastic residential, but are getting more tired as the week progresses. We took a trip over the castle walls and into the shopping centre, to visit the Shambles, where the children spent some of their money on gifts.
We added an additional element to the day to make up for the loss of the boat trip on Monday. We visited Treasurer's House, and were given a tour by the staff. Lunch was eaten in the gardens of treasurer's house too.
After, we had finished, we were given a tour of York Minster and St. William's College. We visited the crypt and saw the Yorkshire Gospel's Book. We saw the Roman remains of the Roman Fortress too.
Roast dinner was consumed and then we went on our 'Tales of York' storyteller evening, where we moved around the city being told the sometimes gruesome history of the city.
The children went to bed well.
