Year 3 Visit Colchester Castle Museum

On Monday 26th February Year 3 visited Colchester Castle Museum to launch the second half of their Radical Romans topic. The children had the opportunity to handle some Iron Age and Roman artefacts and to explore the museum, learning about the changes when Britain became part of the Roman Empire. They also got to go down underground into the Roman part of the castle, the children were amazed to find that the walls they were surrounded by were over 2000 years old! Here they took part in a story workshop where they added to their knowledge of the Romans, Celts and the story of Boudicca, particularly her impact on Colchester. Please enjoy the photographs.
