Unfortunately, after his playground duty, Mr Mercer discovered he had a hole in his coat pocket and had lost everything that had been in it! With Year 3’s help, Mr Mercer was soon reunited with his possessions. Back in the classroom, we discussed whether, if we did not know anything about Mr Mercer, could we learn anything about him from his lost possessions? Could we learn anything from what other people had in their pockets? Year 3 proved to be very good detectives! Then they noticed a sharp pointed stone and decided it was a flint arrow head which might have been made in the Stone Age and left behind by a hunter-gatherer! The children were very keen to find out more about the Stone Age and we are looking forward to the rest of the topic this half term.
