On Tuesday, as part of their learning about Saffron Walden , Y2 had an enjoyable visit to Saffron Walden Museum. The children were able to explore the museum artefacts and were lucky enough to have a session with Gemma , the Education Officer, who took them on a whistle stop tour of the history of Saffron Walden, starting 60 billion years ago! The children learnt about the importance of chalk and flint to the development of our area, were introduced to the Saffron crocus and discussed the significance of the castle to Saffron Walden in days gone by. The highlight for many was the trip to the Victorian maze in Bridge End Gardens where the groups raced to be the first to the middle.
