On Friday 21st September, Year 6 experienced History Off The Page's World War 2 day.
The morning involved children attending a rather strict 1940s school. The idea was that they were all evacuees, being 'welcomed' into their new school hall.
Lessons were very different to today, and their rather strict teacher didn't seem to care for her class at all! Lots of copying and reading scripture.
It was a relief when the school day ended!
After lunch, and aided by an army of parent and governor helpers, the children become shop keepers and shoppers. Buying during a war, with a ration book was tricky. The children also had to look out for shoplifters, a German spy and people without identity papers.
A great day was had by all.
