Tesco Vouchers 2009

In 2009 we have been collecting Tesco vouchers (and Sainbury's too!) since March.
We have held our class competition, to see which class has collected the most.
We have collected more vouchers than ever! Thank you to everyone who contributed vouchers.

Year                                                                                                                                       Number of tokens collected
2007 44210
2008 54000
2009 78275

We have spent the tokens on Visualisers, which will be installed into each classroom. They will be very useful for learning and teaching in every subject.

At Katherine Semar Juniors, we have excellent ICT facilities. Every classroom has an Interactive Whiteboard and each year group has 3 computers at their disposal. We also have a fully equipped ICT suite where each child gets at least 2 hours of high quality teaching per week.

To enhance the subject further we have been busy collecting Tesco computers for schools vouchers. In 2007 the vouchers provided us with:

  • Music writing software, to make our music and ICT lessons more creative.
  • A database, ideal for children aged 7 to 11.
  • Two programmable floor robots and some control software for the ICT suite.
  • A program that teaches children about E-mail, and how to use it safely.
  • Memory card readers, to help children transfer images from our cameras to the PCs.

The children will be working with Mr. Hull to help choose what the vouchers should be spent on this year. So if you have any more vouchers at home, then please bring them to school as we will be spending them in June.

In 2007, we collected 44210 vouchers. This year we have beaten last year's record, collecting 53900!
Our winning class were 5MS and runners up were 6AH.

Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to support the school with this collection. Below is a link to the Tesco's website, where you can browse the items available with the vouchers. If you have any suggestions for purchases, please speak to Mr. Hull.
