Scientist Visits Year 1

Year One were visited by Mrs Mannion, mother to Charlie in Year 1 and Tom in Year 2, who works as  a research scientist at Addenbrookes.  She talked to the children about the parts of a scientist - for example the eyes, which are curious to explore and the brain for asking questions, the hands to investigate.

Mrs Mannion demonstrated a couple of exciting experiments, to see what happens when bicarbonate of soda is added to vinegar.  She and her helpers even blew up a balloon with all the carbon dioxide produced.

The children were truly fascinated - thank you so much to Mrs Mannion for giving up her time and expertise.
