The Year 6 children at Katherine Semar School shared the afternoon with a local artist and illustrator on Monday 4th December 2017.
Brian Sanders, who wrote the children’s books ‘Evacuee’ and ‘Return of an evacuee’ visited the classes as a topic landing, he shared stories of his life as an evacuee to Saffron Walden and shared his art work throughout the decades, including stamp and coin designs, exhibition works and other books he designed and painted.
The children had studies his book, Evacuee, in guided reading and had prepared Twitter style questions to ask him. There was also an opportunity for the children to purchase autographed copies of his book.
