Saturday 28th November saw the school's choir go carolling at Audley End House as part of the 'Festive Fun' weekend being held there. The English Heritage property had a variety of activities including Christmas card and decoration designing for children, wine and jam-tasting, explanations of how some of our Christmas traditions came to be and the use of actors to recreate life for the servants in the Service Wing as they would have prepared for Christmas during the Victorian period.
The school choir was invited to sing traditional carols to add the atmosphere and the did so fantastically despite the cold wintry winds! The children sang well and enjoyed the experience and are looking forward to the remainder of the Christmas performances at the end of this term including the Spirit of Christmas in St. Mary's Church next Saturday (for which tickets are available in school and via the Saffron Walden Tourist Information Office) and the Uttlesford Council Chairman's Carol Service on the evening of the 10th.
Mr Lloyd and would like to thank all the family members who attended and supported the choir and hope to see many more of you celebrating music at the school this Christmas at the many upcoming performances and events.
