KSJ boys football teams beat Dame Bradburys

On Wednesday 22nd February, both Katherine Semar boys 'A' and 'B' teams played away against Dame Bradbury's school. It had been a while since their last fixture and both teams were eager to get back to winning ways.

Both matches were highly competitive and very entertaining to watch. The teams took a while to get use to the wide pitch but soon found their rhythm. In the end, the 'A' finished 4-1 winners and the 'B' won convincing 6-0 winners. Congratulations to Toby for scoring a hat trick for the 'B' team.

After the match, the boys were treated to a fantastic dinner and I would like to thank Dame Bradbury's for their excellent hospitality. Also, thanks to all parents who continue to support the children which always creates a brilliant atmosphere.

Both teams will be playing next on Wednesday 7th March at home against Dame Bradbury's. This will be the last chance for the boys to impress before the tournament on Wednesday 28th March (We will only be fielding one side during this tournament and players will be told if they have been selected closer to the date).

Children's match reports
Boys A Team

On Wednesday 22nd of February, KSJS played Dame Bradbury's in an away match. The match started very well with Dame Bs having the first shot of the game, however luckily cleared off the line by Mitosz. A few minutes later, we created a good chance which resulted in the first goal of the game by Jack S into the bottom left corner. Unluckily, Dame Bs fought back and scored a lucky goal which Fabian could not save.

After a bad tackle to JAck, he soon recovered and added to his tally with an outstanding goal. As the second half started, KSJS had a shot by Anton which was saved by the keeper and led Harry to a top left corner goal.

Later, Dame Bs had a shot. However, great keeper Fabian saved a good shot. Then John smashed the ball to Harry who passed to Mitosz who shot and hit the post from behind the halfway line. Not long after, Cameron came on and John hit the ball to Cameron who hit the post and in which made it 4-1. Thank you to Ttandi, Mr Wallace and all the parents who came to support us and Dame Bs for the delicious food.

Man of the match went to John for his great defensive work.

Boys B Team

On Wednesday, KSJS went to Dame Bs for a football match. Dame Bradbury's had kick off and they started well but KSJS closed down the defence and Toby laid the ball to Pablo, then to Bradley who passed to Callum. Suddenly, Max set up Callum who scored a goal. A bit later, Toby scored when the defenders gave possession away. Dame Bs put on a little bit of pressure but Max wasn't very troubled. The Year 4s played a great game passing the ball around brilliantly. Pablo set up Toby for his second and the whistle went for half timer. 3-0 to KSJS before the second half started. The second half started and Kieran Harrison started in goal not letting in any goals for the whole second half. Charlie threw the ball to Bradley who set up Max and he crossed to Callum who tapped the ball in. Dame Bs put pressure on but Tom cleared the ball to Max who played a 1-2 with Toby who finished. Toby tackled a player but was fouled and took the free kick and scored a brilliant goal! Max was playing well in defence with Pablo. We would like to thank Mr. Wallace and the people who supported us and for the great food!!!!
