Katherine Semar Win Orienteering Competition

The preceding week had be gruelling. Every child in KSJ had competed in lessons on Orienteering. From this 12 were chosen. Six boys and Six girls.

On Wednesday 28th April they travelled down to Audley End's extensive grounds and competed in an Orienteering competition against other schools from all over the county. Represented were Howe Green, Dunmow St. Mary's, Felsted, Gt. Sampford, St. Mary's HBO, RAB, Gt. Chesterford and Katherine Semar Juniors.

The course was huge and the children had to run long distances to punch their orienteering sheets. They used a mixture of map reading, stamina and communication to achieve their results.

When the time had elapsed, and the scores were counted, our years 3/4 team came joint first with Dunmow St. Mary's. Our Years 5/6 team came second.

We are very proud of the hard work the children put in. They, obviously, are thrilled with the results too.
