National Science Quiz

Thursday this week saw eight excited pupils and four slightly nervous adults board the mini bus and head off to Holmwood House prep school near Colchester for the area heat of the Quiz Club National Science Quiz. The two teams had been selected to represent the school by competing against other year 5 and 6 children in a selection quiz. Our two teams then attended lunchtime practise sessions and spent lots of time at home reading interesting facts about science.

The competition was fierce and our two teams lead the way for most of the quiz. With only one question to go, Team One were in first place but sadly Holmwood House Team 2 pipped us to the post. The children were amazing and Mr Hull and I agreed that they knew far more than we did at their age. We couldn’t have been prouder of them. We now await the results of the other heats to see if we qualify for the next round. Congratulations to Theo, Toby, Kieran and Khushi from Team 1 and Amelie, Callum, Ethan and Romany from Team 2.
