Year 5 School Science Engagement Project

This week the children in year 5 were very lucky to be able to take part in a school science engagement project in association with Darwin Tree of Life and Wellcome Sanger Institute. A team of scientists and renowned children's science author Isabel Thomas  (author of One Million Insects) visited the school this week.

The children were able to work alongside the scientists to plan where to set up a Malaise Flytrap on the school field. The children were able to identify insects, build a DNA bracelet and demonstrate their curiosity and enthusiasm for science by quizzing the scientists about their jobs.

It was incredible to be able to take part in such a fabulous project and the children are looking forward to another visit in the Spring.
