Year 6 had a fantastic afternoon at our VE day party. They danced the lindy hop and played traditional party games to a WW2 celebration soundtrack. After working up hunger, the children enjoyed sandwiches and sausage rolls (although Mrs Hall’s fish paste variety were not so well received!) before tucking into a slice or two of cake that they had made at home. Finally, the children chose to trade with a black market racketeer and most agreed that the small chocolate treat was worth it in these times of rationing – after all, the war has just ended!
