On Wednesday this week, the Year 5 children escaped the cold and headed to the Botanical Gardens in Cambridge to explore the more tropical climate of the Rainforest!
The children have been learning about rainforests in their Topic, Literacy and Art work and enjoyed the opportunity to see some of the plants of the rainforests first hand. During the day, the children also had the chance to measure the trees in the gardens and discovered that the tallest tree in the world (a Giant Redwood called General Sherman!) is 81m tall! The day was a great success – the children had a lot of fun and learnt a lot of interesting facts to use in their work back at school.
