Year 5 and 6 Boys Football Tournament

The game had a tense end for both teams but finished 1-1 with both KSS and Great Dunmow sharing the points.

The next two group games for KSS were positive ones and finished 1-0 and 3-0, putting KSS at the top of their group and progressing through to the quarter finals of the competition unbeaten.

The boy’s quarter final was against RAB Blue. This game was a tough one for both teams and was a great game to watch, however, it finished 0-0 and needed to go into penalties to decide who would progress forward to the semi-final.

It was tense but KSS came out on top, after some amazing penalty saves from Leland in goal. KSS 2 & On Wednesday 4th October 2017, the boys football squad from year 5 & 6 came together to play in their first USSP football tournament of the year.

KSS boys were due to play four matches in their group stage of the tournament. These were, Flitch Green FF, Great Dunmow, Rodings and Thaxted.

KSS boys went out all guns blazing, winning their first game against Flitch Green FF 4-0. After their great start it looked really promising for KSS and their confidence was really high going into the second match.

After moving pitches, to bigger pitch, the boys started their game against Great Dunmow. However, after only 2minutes KSS had let Great Dunmow through on goal, who slotted the ball past Leland in goal to make it 1-0.

After their slow start, KSS got use to the size of the pitch and how much space they had. They started to play football again and after a superb pass from Lukas P over the top of the Great Dunmow defence, Ronnie finishing brilliantly to make it 1-1.
RAB Blue 1.

Our semi-final match as against Great Dunmow who we had previously drawn 1-1 with in the group stages. This game proved tough for KSS boys with them going down 1-0 early into the match after Great Dunmow bundled the ball across the line from a great cross. Mid way through the game, Leland made some spectacular reaction saves to keep KSS in the game but unfortunately, despite their efforts, KSS were unable to reply with a goal and lost their semi-final 1-0.

Our last game was for 3rd or 4th place in the competition. This game was against RAB Yellow. This game finished 3-2 to RAB Yellow, putting KSS boys in 4th place.

Well done to all the boys involved!!
