On Tuesday 15th March, Year 4 visited Bhaktivedanta Manor- a Hindu temple. Arriving at school early, the children were very excited about their day ahead. Upon arrival, the children were given a tour of the grounds and a very exciting ride on a cart pulled by two magnificent oxen. We visited the farm where we fed the friendly cows and watched them being milked. After that, we had a short tour of the grounds before taking part in a presentation about the Hindu gods and goddesses. We all had an opportunity to dress up and watch a Hindu celebration in front of a decorative shrine. A vegetarian curry lunch was delicious (lots of children even had seconds and thirds!) and was followed by face painting and a visit to the shop. A great day was had by all.
