Year 3 launched their Stone Age topic on Monday with a scavenger hunt outside in the wooded area. The children had to find objects which they felt were out of place and record the items they found. These included a Katherine Semar trophy, a mirror and even a magic wand! Together we then talked about the most interesting item they discovered – a flint arrowhead. We talked about why this was out of place and the fact that someone had to carve the stone into that shape. The children were very keen to find out more about the Stone Age and we are looking forward to the rest of the topic this term.
