It was wonderful to see such a vast range of story book characters in school on world book day. The children enjoyed a special assembly where they got to see all the super costumes and characters from the other classes and share their favourite book. Through the day we composed a whole school story; each class taking it in turn to write the next part. The story was shared in assembly today and everyone agreed it was so good we should publish it ! The children also collected a paper chain each time they read a book over book week. We totalled the number of chains collected - over 800! This means that the children in Katherine Semar Infant school read over 800 times last week - fabulous! As a well done (and encouragement to keep on reading!) each class is going to be able to buy a new book for their classroom. I wonder what books they will choose?
