Sports Day 2009

 

Great fun and a friendly competitive spirit was on show on Thursday 2nd July as the whole school took part in our annual Sports Day. The weather was hot, and every child was asked to wear their hat, carry their water bottle and bring their sun cream in to school, to ensure no one got burnt!

The children compete in a series of potted sports, which included:

  • Discus throw

  • Chest Push throw

  • Quoit on the head race

  • Football dribble

  • Water carry race

  • Beanbag throw

  • Ice lolly stop

  • Obstacle course

Once these events were complete, and the house points totalled up, the individual races began.

The children competed in:

  • Sprint races

  • Skipping races

  • Relay races.

The children performed very well and enjoyed themselves thoroughly. The games were completed in the sprit of fun and friendly competition and the ice lollies were well appreciated.

The final scores were:

Beech house won the day with 236 points; with all teams competing well. There was only 14 points between the top and lowest team! All points gained will be converted into House Points.
