Science Week Wednesday 20.3.13

Today we found out about real scientists, and the work they do.

Year 1 had visitors from The Sanger Institute who led some very exciting activities.  We dressed up as scientists and learnt how to measure and transfer different amounts of liquids - our teachers were very impressed with our concentration and control.  We explored how germs can transfer through hand to hand contact and learnt about washing our hands really carefully.  Lots of us want to become Scientists now!

Year 2 had visiting Scientists from The Babraham Research Facility.  We found out about the work that they do, and focussed on circuits and nerves.  We discovered that we can make batteries from lemons, potatoes and oranges.  We enjoyed sharing our existing knowledge about electricity, and learnt more about electricity in our bodies.
