This year’s competition was held on the 9th December at Hitchin Boys Grammar School. With over 371 competitors coming from 73 different schools the competition was going to be very close. The standard of competitors ranged from Novice U11 to Elite U19.The Elite class was represented by National and GB youth Competitors.
Representing Katherine Semar was Sydney Kelly competing in the U11 Girls Novice Group, after the first round Sydney was in second place by only 0.1, but with a very solid second routine she manage to take first place with a winning score of 48.3, the top three bouncers qualify to the next round of the competition, which is called the Zonal. The Zonals are made up of four different regions, Eastern, Wales, West and East Midlands . This competition was held in Wales next year on the 20th January 2013.
Sydney achieves 1st place at the regional and zonal rounds of the National Schools Trampoline Competition in Wales.
At a recent National Schools Trampoline Competition, Sydney placed first and successfully earned qualification in both the regional and zonal rounds, taking her to the national finals in March in the Under 11 Novice girls category.
The competition is for school children of all ages across the nation, with regional and zonal first rounds. To place first in both the regional and zonal rounds is testament to Sydney's dedicated weekly training and hard work at Cambridge Cangaroos Trampoline Club.
Sydney's trampoline routine involved ten linked skills, each of which can be various shapes, body landings and somersaults. Marks are awarded for neatness and difficulty which are combined tp provide an overall total.
Katherine Semar wish Sydney the best of luck at achieving her first national championship title at the finals in March.
