Year 3 Topic Launch

On Monday last week, Year 3 were visited by an Anglo-Saxon scop (story teller) in our 'mead-hall' complete with a roaring fire, skulls and candles.  Aethelwald told some tales of heroes in Old English and then modern English and the children were amazed at how many words they could work out in the Old English.

Thank you so much to Adam, our visiting scholar, who is actually a third year student at Cambridge University studying Anglo-Saxon, Norse and Celtic, for taking us back in time for a short while to start our topic.
