Michaelmas Fair

On Saturday 20th September, the Katherine Semar Junior school choir performed as part of the Saffron Walden Michaelmas celebrations. The day's celebrations, organised by the Saffron Walden Lions Club, included Morris Dancing, performances by the town's swing band and a fun fair on the common.

This year's school choir had only had one hour to prepare and it was the first time that many of the pupils had chance to perform together for an audience. They sang two pieces; a traditional West African round, "Senwa Dedende", and the Bill Withers gospel classic, "Lean On Me".

They sang brilliantly and Mr Lloyd was very proud of them. As were Mr Hull, Mr Johnson and the parents who attended also. All of their fantastic support was hugely appreciated and the choir now have a great experience behind them as they start to prepare for the 'Spirit of Christmas' celebrations.
