Effective schools are inclusive schools that monitor, develop and devise strategies to improve the effectiveness of their provision to meet the needs of all students.
Katherine Semar Junior School has been recognised for making all its lessons and activities accessible to all students. We are proud to be awarded the Inclusion Quality Mark in January 2010.
External assessors examined the school as an inclusive environment. They looked for evidence that every child was gaining access to every activity in school. The school's curriculum was judged as personalised, where every child matters. The data from our SATs results show that all children, whether their first language is English or not, have Special Education Needs or not or are Gifted and Talented make excellent progress. The IQM award certifies that both the curriculum and extra-curricular activities are accessible to all at KSJ.
