Cricket results - KSJ win league, but lose play off

On Wednesday 19th May, KSJS took three cricket teams, two teams of boys and one girl team - to Saffron Walden Cricket Club to play in the local schools tournament. All teams played well and really enjoyed the afternoon and the first boys' team won their two qualifying matches against RAB and St. Thomas More and finished runners up - only narrowly losing to Radwinter in the final.

For some of those boys, as well as some members of the girls' team, the tournament was only the beginning of an afternoon of cricket as the school's first team also played against Friends Junior School after the tournament had ended. The team played as a close unit with intensity and showed some excellent skill. They also looked fantastic, playing for the first time in the school's new cricket whites. After almost five hours of cricket for the pupils, this match came to a tense and dramatic finale with the end result being that Friends won by only 1 run off the very last ball of the match!

Everyone enjoyed the afternoon and the team are looking forward to their next match against R.A.B.
