Year 6 launch Blitz, Bangs and Bombs.
Year 6 have launched their Blitz, Bangs and Bombs topic by spending the day in the ‘safety’ of a countryside village.
The morning was spent in a 1940s school, where Scripture and Gas Mask Drill were two of the lessons in the morning. After children had washed out their mouths with soap and water and been ‘caned,’ they recited the Kings and Queens of England since the battle of Hastings.
The afternoon was spent shopping in the Village of Comberswick. The children had to use their ration books and pre-decimal money to purchase items off their shopping list. They ran the shops and cafes too.
